Hello! My name is Lenny Wallace and I am the owner and operator of Wallace Home Solutions. I started WHS in January 2026. Even though I am a new company, I come with years of experience. I started WHS because after doing commercial flooring for an extended period, I wanted a change.I wanted to get back to the basics as I'm a fixer by nature. It allows me to utilize my skill sets in a variety of ways. I'm not boxed in by only practicing my skills with one trade. Plus, it gives me the flexibility to work with the customer and agree upon a schedule that will be realistic for both of us. I want to know about my customers and will determine what I need to accomplish through learning about them as individuals. Because I've dealt with large companies and leaders, as well as, small businesses and homeowners, I can tailor my focus and adjust accordingly. While I was in the music business, I honed my skills on how to market myself and show potential clients what I have to offer to ensure a seamless interaction.
I grew up in Fifty Six, Arkansas. Raised on a farm, I had to learn pretty quickly how to fix, maintain, and operate a wide spectrum of tools, machines, etc. At a young age, my parents taught me how to solve problems to fix things and improvise when I needed a part I didn't have in order to move on with my work. One of the best tools they taught me was to use common sense to assess the simplest of things because usually that's where your answer would be found. In other words, find the source of the problem and work from that point.
Who am I? Music caught my attention at an early age. I grew up playing music through all of my adolescence which led me later to move to Nashville, Tennessee. I paid my dues and became a professional musician for 20 plus years. Had the pleasure of getting to play at the Grand Ole Opry with such greats as Tom T. Hall and Jeannie C. Riley. Eventually, I found my way to a group called Slickerbilly. We had two major record deals with Warner Brothers and Mercury Records. We toured all over the United States,Canada, and the Caribbean. On my days off in Nashville, a buddy and I started Punch List Home Improvements. We would take care of realtors, as well as, homeowners to handle all of their punch list needs.
I moved to Franklin County, Virginia in 2003. Fell in love with the area and the people. I met a Franklin County native, Donna, who has been my wife for 20 years now. She is my "true north" and keeps me pointed in the right direction. Thanks babe for keeping me organized and on track every day!
I re-kindled my old passion for bass fishing, especially living right here at Smith Mountain Lake. By doing so, I have established some life-long friendships. I'm not one to immediately throw away a rod, reel or other tackle if it breaks or doesn't operate the way it should. I use my experience and many of the same tools I utilize in my daily work and home life. There's always a lesson to be learned in both success and failures along the way.
I worked with a general contractor around SML for several years. I enhanced my knowledge of new builds and renovations.WhileI don't typically handle larger tiling jobs any longer, I can offer some expertise on a project you're interested in getting done. I partnered with another business owner handling a commercial/residential flooring business. We operated as a team for 20 years in Virginia. Installing a wide variety of materials from carpet, carpet tiles, LVT, LVP, rubber, vinyl, ceramic, and even engineered hardwood. Over the years, I learned a great deal about the flooring business and worked with many vendors to ensure I was up to date on the traditional types of flooring along with current trends in order to communicate effectively with our customers. Project management was a key skill I put into practice no matter the size of the job.
My work ethic is and was the same throughout my life. If I have a task, job, event, etc to do, I do it right and don't take shortcuts. I don't operate from the premise that "the end justifies the means." I implement checkpoints throughout my work so that both myself and the customer can clearly understand what I'm doing and that I am giving it 100% of my focus until it's complete.
You can rest assured that I will work hard, smart and carefully to meet your expectations. I am a people person and truly enjoy meeting new people. It helps me to personalize each customer's experience. Let me help you with your home needs and I believe you won't be disappointed. I will approach and complete your work in the same manner I would do at my own home. Your satisfaction is my satisfaction. The buck stops with me.
Let Wallace Home Solutions make your house a better home.
